Valrico Health Insurance, Every Plan Compared in Writing
We meet with people from Valrico, Brandon and Riverview to work through major medical coverage, including individual and family policies and ACA Marketplace plans, and to add dental, vision or accident insurance when it covers a gap. We write each carrier's premium, deductible and network on a single page, so you understand price and coverage before signing.

How Your Premium and Care Costs Are Set
Health plan pricing runs on fixed rules, largely from federal law and the rates carriers file. Once you know those pieces, any quote is easier to read. ACA-compliant plans cannot raise your price because of your health history.
We hold off on quoting until we have your age, county, family size, income and the doctors you want to keep. After that, each option comes to you in writing, with the premium and the main cost-sharing amounts on separate lines.
- Age and tobacco
- ACA plans are allowed to charge older applicants more, and carriers may add a tobacco surcharge. Together these account for much of the difference between two people's quotes.
- Where you live
- Rating areas follow county lines. Valrico is in Hillsborough County, so your quotes reflect the carriers and networks filed there.
- Plan tier
- Bronze trims the monthly premium and raises the deductible, gold does the reverse, and silver falls in the middle. At certain incomes, silver is the only tier with cost-sharing reductions that lower deductibles and copays.
- Projected income and tax family
- For Marketplace plans, your expected income and the size of your tax family decide whether you receive a premium tax credit and how much it is. A careful estimate helps prevent an unexpected bill when you file taxes.
- Type of network
- HMOs usually cost less but keep you in network and often need referrals. PPOs cost more and pay for out-of-network visits, though your share is larger.
Coverage We Help You Choose
Our core work is major medical coverage: individual health insurance, family health insurance and ACA Marketplace plans, including checking whether you qualify for a premium tax credit. Around that, we add dental insurance, vision insurance and accident insurance where they close a real gap. Each plan type has its own page that explains how the benefits work and what changes the price.

Individual Health Insurance
Coverage for one person, compared across carriers by deductible, network and drug list, with every number written down before you enroll.
Family Health Insurance
One plan for parents and kids, compared across carriers with the family deductible, out-of-pocket limit and doctor networks spelled out on one page.
ACA Marketplace Plans
Marketplace health plans with your tax credit estimated, networks checked and every option laid out in a written comparison before you enroll.
Dental Insurance
Dental plans compared by waiting period, annual maximum and network, with every limit written down before you choose one.
Vision Insurance
Vision plans from several carriers compared on exam copays, frame and contact allowances, and lens upgrade costs, all laid out in writing before you enroll.
Accident Insurance
Supplemental accident coverage that pays fixed cash benefits for fractures, hospital stays and follow-up visits, with each carrier's schedule explained in writing.
How We Work With You
A health plan is a contract with many parts. We put each part in writing so you can compare them on your own schedule and decide without pressure.
Written comparisons before enrollment
Before you enroll, you get a written side-by-side showing each plan's monthly premium, deductible, out-of-pocket maximum, copays and provider network. Nothing new appears at the last minute.
Several carriers in one view
No single carrier owns our agency, so we can line up plans from several of them. You can see where one carrier's network or drug list fits you better than another's.
No cost to you
We are paid by the carrier you pick, so you never owe us for the comparison or the enrollment, and your premium matches what you would pay signing up directly.
We check doctors and prescriptions
A low premium means little if your doctor is out of network or your medication sits on an expensive drug tier. We confirm both before recommending a plan.
Honest answers about limits
Accident insurance is not major medical, and dental plans often have waiting periods. We say so up front, so your coverage pays the way you expect.
From First Call to Active Coverage
Most clients finish in one or two conversations. Here is how it runs.
- 1
A short call to learn your situation
We ask who needs coverage, your expected income, the doctors you see and the medications you take. This is the free consultation, and there is no fee for it.
- 2
We build your side-by-side
We pull plans from multiple carriers and lay them out in writing: premium after any tax credit, deductible, out-of-pocket maximum, copays and network. You can review it at our office, by phone or over video.
- 3
You pick a plan, we handle the application
Once you settle on a plan, we go through the application questions with you on a phone call or at our office, then send it to the carrier and confirm the date your coverage begins. Open enrollment and special enrollment periods both have hard cutoffs, so we track them for you.
- 4
Questions after you enroll
If an ID card is late, a claim looks wrong or your income changes mid-year, give us a call and we will help you sort out the next step with the carrier.

Who We Work With in Valrico
We work with individuals, families and self-employed clients who buy their own health coverage instead of getting it through an employer. That includes people between jobs, early retirees not yet eligible for other programs, gig workers and small business owners covering themselves.
Our approach is simple. We explain how a plan's deductible, coinsurance and out-of-pocket maximum interact, show you the numbers in writing, and let you decide. If the plan you already have is the best fit, we will tell you that too.

Questions About Health Coverage
Will I pay more if I enroll through you?
No. Premiums are filed with the state, so a plan has the same price whether you enroll on your own or with us. The carrier you choose pays us, and the consultation is free.
When am I allowed to join an ACA Marketplace plan?
Florida's main window is open enrollment, held each fall and running into mid-January. Outside it, you need a qualifying life event such as losing work coverage, moving to another county, marrying, or having or adopting a child. Those events typically allow 60 days to choose a plan. We can tell you on the call whether yours qualifies.
Can I stay with the doctors I see now?
In many cases, yes, depending on each plan's network. We search every carrier's directory for your doctors and preferred hospital before recommending a plan, and your written comparison marks which plans include them.
Can a pre-existing condition get me turned down or charged more?
Not with ACA-compliant major medical plans, which cannot refuse you or raise your price over health history. Some supplemental coverage, like certain accident or dental policies, follows its own rules and waiting periods, and we go over those before you apply.
How can I tell whether I qualify for a tax credit?
It comes down to your expected income for the year, how many people are in your tax family, and whether an affordable employer plan is open to you. We work out an estimate together on the call. If your income shifts during the year, report it quickly so the credit stays correct.
What is the difference between a deductible and an out-of-pocket maximum?
The deductible is what you pay on your own for covered services before the plan starts sharing the cost. The out-of-pocket maximum is the ceiling on your spending for covered in-network care in a plan year, and deductibles, copays and coinsurance all count toward it. After you reach it, the plan covers 100 percent of covered in-network services for the rest of that plan year.
Are dental and vision separate policies?
Major medical plans usually leave out adult dental and vision, so many clients buy them as standalone policies. Dental plans often pay for cleanings in full and cover bigger work at a lower rate, up to an annual cap. We write those terms down so you can judge whether the premium is worth it.
